Who is Kyla?

As a dynamic Year 11 student, Kyla Ndinda seamlessly blends artistic expression with athletic passions. With a keen interest in music, I have cultivated a strong foundation in violin, guitar and bass guitar, finding solace and creativity through these instruments.

Additionally, I play at my church every two weeks, and engage within annual school recitals in November.

Being open-minded and eager to learn, I embrace new challenges with enthusiasm. My  strong work ethic and growth mindset drives me to excel in all endeavors.

My Interests and Passions

Music

Within the musical realm, I participate in annual school recitals where I have played pieces such as Shostakovich – Prelude for two violins and Angry Tango on the violin, and H.E.R-Best Part  on the guitar.

Currently, I play with the newly formed school band as a bassist where we plan to play at school assemblies and morning hours before school.

Academics

As a year 11 student at the Crawford International School, I have constantly excelled in the different subjects that I study and emerged among the top ten since Year 5. From Year 7 to Year 9, I have come first in my class in academic performance.

I am motivated by the structured learning environment and intellectual stimulation that the classroom provides. I thrive on the challenge of expanding my knowledge, pushing my academic boundaries, and striving for excellence.

Kyla at Sports

Sports

Complementing my artistic pursuits, I am a dedicated sports person actively participating in basketball and netball within school and as a participant in school games and tournaments with local community clubs.

The discipline and teamwork I fostered through these sports has shaped me into a resilient and competitive individual. Ultimately, it has seen me selected as the U15 basketball captain, part of the U19 netball team that participated in inter Crawford games; first team netball for U15 and U19, and as a scroll for basketball.

Art

My intellectual curiosity extends beyond books and goes into the artistic world. My interest for art appeared when I was as young as seven and only continued to grow the older I became. To nurture my artistic interest, I selected  art as a subject in year 8, 9 and elected it as an IGCSE subject where I have learnt numerous  techniques to create pieces that show my artistic growth and creativity.
